Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like working with a 3devo Materials Specialist?

When you partner with us, you’re teaming up with someone who really gets filament-making. Our Extrusion Specialists bring years of hands-on experience to your project, guiding you from setup through fine-tuning. We’re here to make sure your material performs its best, and we’ll stick with you until you’re getting solid results.

Will I have a single point of contact?

Yes! We’ll connect you with the best specialist for your project. Our team brings a range of expertise:

  • Leah Brew – Sustainable and bio-based materials; skilled in troubleshooting complex thermoplastics.
  • Jose Rui Capitao – Process optimization and rapid prototyping for efficiency-focused projects.

How can I book a consultation?

Just schedule a call with us. We’re flexible, and whether you’re in the brainstorming phase or working through specific issues, we’re here to help! Check out our get in touch page for more ways to contact us.

Does 3devo offer support to help maintain filament quality?

Quality depends on settings, drying, and the workspace environment. We’re here with tips and troubleshooting to help you maintain high quality. Get in touch with our Extrusion Specialists and we will help you with all your questions. You’ll also find guides, articles, and videos on our support platform to keep things running smoothly.

How many times can I recycle a material?

Generally, materials can go through up to five cycles. By the third or fourth round, you might notice some brittleness, but mixing in virgin polymer can help reduce any impact. We’re happy to help you set up a recycling process that fits your goals.

How closely do I need to monitor my extrusion settings?

When starting with a new material, it’s best to keep an eye on things closely at first. Once settings are optimized, a quick check every 1-2 hours is usually enough. We can guide you on what to watch for and share troubleshooting tips to keep things stable.
